The bottomless pit was added in 2016 and was part of a group build with Rocky Mountain Haunters. I didn't take very many pics, but you can see the basic structure, and the cool effects.
The frame was built from 2 x 4s with plenty of support below the mirror on the bottom. The glass on the top is tinted with the highest reflective window tint. The top portion is the lid, which is removable for cleaning. This is crucial for the best effect. When dirt gets in and settles on the mirror, you can see where the prop ends, so much less cool!

I purchased this vintage-looking light socket, which I mounted halfway between the mirror and the top glass so that the effect would repeat evenly. There is one light bulb and only two steps to this rope ladder, but you'd never know it by seeing this effect!
